How to Suggest Content for The Organic Guides
(including your organization!)

Our vision is that all San Francisco Bay Area agriculture will go organic - with diverse crops, plenty of small farms, and rich wild areas - creating a healthier, less-toxic world for us all!

Our volunteer, community-supported group has created two guidebooks to make it incredibly easy
for you to explore and enjoy Bay Area organics:

The Organic Guide to San Francisco

The Organic Guide to Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino Counties
(aka Wine Country!)

And, while you're having fun and
nurturing yourself, you're also helping create
healthier food and farming for us all!

(1) How do I suggest content for the Guides?

We always welcome suggested content for the Guides! Please let us know if you know about a store or organization that you think we should include. We're also interested in key statistics, articles, or resources for the topics we discuss in the books.

The easiest way for us is if you can email us (address below) the basic information and how we can get more information (website, contact person, etc.). It's very helpful to say that this is suggested content, and for which Guide, if possible. We'll put it in our files for when we do our next update. We also do regular articles, so we might use it for that as well. Thank you for your assistance!

If you are with a store or organization that you feel fits in one of our Guides, see the next item for more information

(2) How do we get in the Guides?

If you feel that your business or organization might be appropriate for the Guide, please email us basic information about your business, group, or product, including name of contact person, phone, mailing address, web address, and email address. Also include a few sentences of description, including your organic connection. This doesn't need to be fancy - just to give us a sense. We will followup for more information as needed.

Regions: Our books currently cover San Francisco; and Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino Counties (north of San Francisco). We also might do books for other areas, especially in northern California.

Criteria for inclusion. We're always looking for organizations in northern California that have a notable commitment to organic and non-toxic products and practices. The specific criteria vary by business, and we can talk with you further to see if it's appropriate to include you in the book. Note that we don't require that your business be all organic or that you be certified organic. If you're not certified, we can talk more about your practices to see how they fit with the Guide.

Note: After producting these books for 9 years, this project is currently in haitus. We don't have either edition scheduled for a new edition. However, we do have update webpages for both books, where we sometimes put new places, so please forward us your information any time. We are also open to producing new, if we get enough people to pitch in. Please email or call us if you might be able to help out.

There is no fee required to be in the Guide, and we decide editorially which organizations to include. However, we invite those in the Guide to help make this community project possible by becoming a Business Member, which starts at only $75 a year. This gets you a star next to your listing, acknowledgement in the book and on the website, a copy of the book, and the knowledge that you are providing vital support for this volunteer community project. It is only because of our Business Members and Sponsors that we've been able to keep the book so reasonably priced. The current distributor price just covers our printing costs, so Members and Sponsors give us a budget for everything else, including research and marketing. Thank you so much for our Members and Sponsors, and everyone else who supports this project for a healthier world for all!

For other counties

Send us basic information about your business, group, or product, including name of contact person, mailing address, phone, and ideally email address. If at all possible, please send us this by email (see address below). Just a paragraph of description is fine; we can followup for more information later.

Then we put you in our database and contact you when we're doing a new edition for which might be appropriate, to get more information and see if you would fit into that edition.

Criteria

In terms of businesses, we are primarily looking for those in or near our Guide areas. (We currently cover San Francisco, Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino Counties.) We sometimes go a bit beyond these borders for special cases, and we might do Guides for other areas, so feel free to submit information. For groups and other resources, we prioritize for local ones, but are more flexible in including those in other areas, if they meet a unique need that would be valuable to people living in or visiting the area of the Guides.

We hope this information is useful to you. Contact us below if you have any further questions. Email is ideal, if possible, for the quickest response. Also check out the rest of our website, to find out more about what our community group is doing to help create a healthier world for everyone!

Thank you for your support of our project to support local organics.
Together, we really do make dreams come true!
