How You Can Support CAP
Community Support Makes Our Work Possible!

Community Action Publications (CAP)
is a volunteer, community-supported organization.

We create and distribute useful and empowering information
about toxics and alternatives
to help us all create
a healthier, happier, less-toxic world.

We especially focus on reducing toxics and encouraging organics
in San Francisco and the North Bay.

For more information about CAP and other ways you can support our work, see <www.healthyworld.org/about_cap.html>

Our work depends on the support of the community to exist -- including people like you!

Our priority is creating and distributing empowering information as widely as possible. We don't want money to be a barrier to this information being used! So, even though it takes substantial time and expense to develop, we offer our information for a low cost or often even free (like on this website!). To continue doing this, we need the support of people like you!

* VOLUNTEER WITH US

We invite you to pitch in and help make our work possible. For just a little of your time, you greatly increase what we can accomplish in our information gathering, presentation, and distribution. What are your skills, interests, and passions that you can offer towards a better world? What time can you offer?

Our specific needs right now are:

* Data entry - We've found lots of great information that just needs to get into the computer to go the next step. Can you type with decent speed and accuracy? Or do have a good OCR? Setup?

* Research - We've got some great project ideas that just need someone to lead in gathering information. Do you know or want to find out more about:

* Community gardens in Napa and Mendocino Counties?

* Schools in Sonoma County that avoid pesticides , use organics, or integrate their gardens into their coursework?

* Website enhancement - We'd love to make our website a little more fancy - perhaps with a menu bar at the top?

* Writing - Do you like to write? We have story ideas and different avenues for you to get your work out, telling stories about how people have reduced their pesticide use and chosen a less-toxic path for working with the earth and achieving their goals. Or we can collaborate with you on your story idea. Let's tell a different story for our culture's relationship with the precious earth!

Here are some of the general ways you can assist:

* Tabling - to allow us to have information tables at more events.

* Writing and/or graphic arts - to support us in creating more articles and handouts. (We have more ideas than we can implement so far!)

* Research - to support us in creating articles and future book editions.

* Website development - to help create special web pages and effects. (We have some special things we'd love to do, with assistance!)

* Grantwriting - to help us get financial support for our work.

* Marketing - to assist with promoting our work, the Guides, and our webpage.

* Office maintenance - filing, data entry, making phone calls, tabling.

* Join our Organic Vision Steering Committee - to explore other ways to help make this vision real.

Contact us to let us know more about your interests and how you might like to pitch in and help make our shared visions come true. (Our contact information is below.)
